On what basis is Narayan Karthikeyan even in F1? He is by no means a driver of any reputable standards. He’s even not at par with Pedro De La Rosa. What could HRT possibly hope to achieve by being in F1?

The answer is simple: HRT is here for the short haul. Make money through the huge sponsorship brought in by Karthikeyan and somewhat from De La Rosa. Their cars are 6-7 seconds off the pace, and it will remain that way. It’s not because HRT can’t do better. It’s because their business model is simple: make money by getting lots of sponsorship funds, but channel a very tiny quantity of the same to their F1 budget. The net result is the entrepreneurs at HRT making good money.

Karthikeyan is marketed in India as the “fastest Indian”, so with a billion dreaming, sponsors are guaranteed. But, it gets really boring to see him amount to nothing weekend after weekend in the eyes of the Indian people, who tend to dream big. Unfortunately, Karthikeyan can never get anywhere remotely close to 10th place even if here were driving a Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari or Mercedes. Count all possible parallel galaxies where he could race, and he still wouldn’t get anywhere close to 10th place.

So, the sponsors are worried. What do you do? You create an incident and get the whole Indian population behind him. The only question is, how long will gimmicks like this last before the FIA puts in strong regulations to separate those who’re in it for the sport and those who’re in it for commercial exploitation.

I think that when a person like Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel crys because they are happy to become great achievements and conquer the sport of formula 1. i disagree when Narain Karthikeyan to have a cheek to call Seb Vettel a cry baby, this indian guy dont realise how drivers feels when he hasnt achieved nothing he is a insault to injury. he do not deserve to be a formula 1 racing driver, he has got hatred and jealousy running through his blood, if he said that to me i would have him thrown out of formula 1 and banned for life.

Much like his incident with Webber at Turkey, Vettel makes another assumption that a driver will just move out of his way on a straight.
He made his own mistake with his oversteer correction and for some odd reason then kept parallel to the track for a few seconds instead of moving to the right side for the up-coming left-hander like a normal considerate driver.

One does not have to be an Indian to be an idiotic driver on the formula one circuit, there are multiple examples, most latest being Romain Grosjean, I want to know Schumacher’s reaction to the nudge he got from him.

Sebastien Vettel’s anger although a little overhyped is understandable.

I am fully in agreement with Sebastien Vettel, Narain drove like a total idiot there and cost the faster Red bull curious positions, you could see how angry Vettel was with his fists up in the air swearing at the cucumber Karthikeyan.

Schumacher made his debut in a Jordan and qualified it on 6th

Lewis made his debut in the fastest car of the year ’07, McLaren. Do you see the difference, or playing ignorant to make a point, or simply didn’t know about it?

Not really, Alonso is 28 million per year , Beckam has 6.5 per year, he leads in endorsements though, I dont have data on Alonso’s endorsement value.

Not really. Kimi is a person enormous talent and he show in the past that he “just jump in, and drive to the maximum” and it is working for him. He will not play any second twiddle to anyone from first moment. I believe he will be on the podium regularly.
