Indianapolis can go take a hike, a hike to Austin , Texas as that is the new venue of the formula one United States Grand prix. In a grand announcement, Bernie Ecclestone confirmed the US Grand Prix deal with Full Throttle Productions.
Bernie was ecstatic that a ‘world class facility’ will be made to host the F1 grand prix, the first time in the US. It seems like a potshot at the Indy circuit more than anything else, lets hope Hermann Tilke isnt allowed within 100 miles of the track.
“For the first time in the history of Formula One in the United States, a world-class facility will be purpose-built to host the event,” Bernie Ecclestone was quoted.
“This will be the first time a facility is constructed from the ground up specifically for Formula One in the US.”
Meanwhile the promoters of the event, Full Throttle productions were also thrilled at their new venture.
“We are extremely honored and proud to reach an agreement with the F1 Commercial Rights Holder,” said Tavo Hellmund, of Full Throttle Productions.
“We have been diligently working together for several years to bring this great event to Austin, the state of Texas and back to the United States. All parties involved have a great amount of trust and confidence in each other and are committed to establishing the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Tex., as a prestigious global event.”
Its definitely good news that the race is getting back to one of the most powerful countries in the world and American F1 fans will get a chance to see their heroes live again.
