Is Timo Glock kidding us all ?

Read this post race Q&A with Timo Glock :

Did you realise the significance of Lewis Hamilton fighting with you on the final lap?

To be honest I was racing for Toyota and my place which is the correct thing to do. I didn’t even know that Lewis was directly behind me. The team told me that Sebastian Vettel was catching me and they kept me updated on his position but I was concentrating so hard on keeping the car on the track. I didn’t even know that Lewis had overtaken me until after the race. I was passed by three or four cars on the final lap and it was not easy to keep track of what was going on.

What kind of a pathetic idiot is Timo Glock ? , we were discussing in college about him and now it really seems that there might be something fishy in the pass. No doubt he is one of the biggest no-bodies of formula one. It really seems as if he didnt defend his position and sort of gifted Lewis Hamilton the championship.

In related news, the British media are as biased as ever in the reporting of this incident. I was shocked to read some quotes on a UK newspaper’s website :

Formula One being the cynical sport it is, it did not take long for Hamilton’s critics to suggest Glock had pulled over to let the McLaren driver through at the last.

Hamilton is a hated figure in Spain because of his infamous row with Fernando Alonso, the former double world champion, while the pair were team-mates at McLaren last year.

Just to add a little to the above quotes, we are an unofficial news source so we can write our opinions, but the level of bias of the British media is too much. And Hamilton is a hated figure in India also, but he didnt have any row with Narain Karthikeyan :P

glock is a joke…a racer won’t gv up his position so easily in a race…no excuses should be accepted…hamilton doesn’t deserve the title at all… a champ won’t bump on other racer’s car in pit lane with red light on…what an idiot!

I am stunned by the level of ignorant vitriol being spouted about Timo Glock by some people.

Glock lapped quicker than Trulli in the final laps of the race – these two being the only drivers on dry weather tyres on a wet track: http://tinyurl.com/58xmvy

Are we supposed to believe that Glock gambled on not putting wet weather tyres so he could gain extra places – but then, for no reason, chose to let another driver pass? What nonsense.

Even Felipe Massa said – and I’m quoting verbatim – “Glock didn’t let himself be overtaken on purpose.” (http://tinyurl.com/6dp23z).

Massa also said: “I know how to win and I know how to lose.” (http://tinyurl.com/5kpcdz). Some of his fans could do with learning how.

@Keith – I appreciate your comment, but quite frankly dont appreciate being called names like ignorant.

I write what i feel on this blog, i also read your blog and used to comment on it before you decided to arbit delete comments with any links (that ways i shud probably double mark your comment as spam).

Glock stayed on dry tyres so that he could gain places, but he probably realised the importance of what he could do. The particular incident did look a little fixed on TV and thats what i cam commenting on.

And then comes this great interview, wherein. As far as learning to lose goes, quite frankly i am not a Massa fan, but i do hate Lewis Hamilton :) and i do say that i am a little biased. Some of the comments on your McLaren-ish posts also claim that you are biased, which you ofcourse vehemently deny.

I would have loved had you commented in a sensible and decent way. I know you are a big person and all who frequently writes articles but i really dont think that gives you right to demean others and write comments which on your site would have vanished before one could say abra kadabra.

Anyway lets chuck it and wait for next season.

I certainly didn’t mean to offend – by ‘ignorant’ I was being descriptive. In order to hold this opinion of Glock you have to ignore the facts of the situation, as I wrote.

But I do not claim to be unbiased – no one is.

Dude I have seen loads of Mclaren and Hamilton fans in India who have been supporting Mclaren since the days of the great Hakkinen. So you’re pretty “ignorant” in the that comment of yours.

I feel pity for Ferrari gloryhunters like you who instead of appreciating Hamilton’s deserved victory are bent upon giving ridiculous conspiracy theories.

    Seriously get a life !

PS Oh! what the heck – my comment wont even get posted here. NP.
