Felipe Massa gets pole !

In a weird twist of events, Felipe Massa who is not even in the reckoning for the world championship got pole position for the final and deciding race of the formula one season. But its advantage Lewis Hamilton as he starts from second place ahead of rivals and championship contenders Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso. Mclare boss Ron Dennis seems to believe its all over now and that it will be an easy race for Lewis Hamilton.
“It’s almost all in his hands now. We’ve got a bit of work to do but nothing too serious and it will be a good, clean fight for the championship.”
But it was anything but a clean fight with allegations of Lewis Hamilton impeding Kimi Raikkonen coming through. Lewis apologised for the ‘unintentional’ error, while Kimi hinted that it lost him some time.

Kimi Raikkonen: “Of course it would have been better to be on pole position but third place is certainly no bad thing and leaves me in a good position for tomorrow’s race, also in light of the strategy we have chosen and the performance of the car. On my final flying lap, I lost precious time at turn 4 because of Hamilton: it is a real shame but there is no point in recriminations over what has happened. I am confident that I will be able to keep my chances alive right to the end.”

Somehow Hamilton has this knack of being at all the wrong places at precisely the wrong time for him to be there !
