New evidence emerges in Ferrari-McLaren Spy scandal

In view of new evidence in the Ferrari-McLaren spying case, the FIA has cancelled the referral of the matter to international court of appeals and has convened a meeting on September 13th in which McLaren have been invited, sparking speculation that there could be some proof against the McLaren Mercedes F1 outfit. There are also rumours that new evidence against Nigel Stepney or Mike Coughlan could have been unearthed. The FIA released a statement saying :
“Following the receipt of new evidence the WMSC has been reconvened for a hearing in Paris on 13 September.
“In accordance with its decision of 26 July, representatives of McLaren have been invited to attend the hearing.
“The FIA president Max Mosley’s referral of the matter to the International Court of Appeal has been withdrawn.”
In response McLaren posted a statement on their website too, pledging full cooperation.
“McLaren Racing has been made aware that new evidence has been presented to the FIA as part of their ongoing investigation.
“McLaren will continue to co-operate fully with the FIA.”
