Fernando Alonso wins rain-filled European Grand Prix
Fernando Alonso seized the lead from Felipe Massa with just 5 laps remaining to clinch the 2007 formula one European Grand Prix and cut down Lewis Hamilton’s lead in the formula one driver’s championship to just 2 points. Lewis Hamilton finished 9th and outside the points for the first time in his career.
The race was initially stopped after cars went spin happy all around the track. Formula one débutante Markus Winkelhock who was on wet weather tyres was the race leader when other cars went scurrying to the pits for wet tyres.
Raikkonen had an unlucky race with him going out with a mechanical problems. I missed a part of the race as it was raining here also which meant that my satellite TV service went down with thunder.

It was interesting messy race
I am just confused with some rules … a) why the race lasted 2:06 minutes and not 2 hours as the limit should be, b) why was Hamilton allowed to race, when he needed the assistance of the crane to get off the gravel …

Yeah, that found me off my guard too, i guess everyone favours Hamilton for the second part !
He is Britain’s chocolate hero !
