Hi Formula One Addict.

Of course I would like to contribute. Initially of course it will be very spasmodic as I am moving continent. After a number of years in Greece I am now returning to South Africa.

I'll try to enter the blog as much as possible but we are now busy selling furniture, my home here and my car.

Speak to you soon

Thank you for your response Formula One Addict.

You are right about Renault needing to improve their car but Formula One Pilots need to have a Lion's heart. And that unfortunately Fisichella does not have. Once again may I ask that you please compare his results for 2007 to those of 2006. You will see that although Renault were winning last year with Alonso, Fisichella got exactly the same results in his car!
Do you actually think that Alonso too is "the Top Pilot"?
No my friend. It has been proven this year with Hamilton. Alonso was Briatore's child, insignificant in Minardi and he grew up in Renault. For two years he had the most competitive car and he won two championships. At the same time Fisichella was finishing 6th, 8th with a bit of luck 4th. We all saw it too clearly!
At McLaren Alonso will do nothing as in that team there is indeed a Pilot with a Lion's Heart and that is Hamilton. Although this year I feel that ferrari will get the championship.
Just a quick note to prove that Renault is not as bad as Fisichella makes us out to believe. Look at Torro Rosso against Red Bull. Same company different engines. I think it is quite obvious that our engine is still a top contender.

I'm sure Ron Dennis and McLaren Mercedes perfers this controversy over the real story this week--possible corporate espionage. I think this whole Hamilton/Alonso hype is a bit stale in comparison but, it is the sort of story that will pique most people's interest and shade a potentially larger issue. Besides, is it any wonder that a British team would feel a bit more bonded to a British driver-especially when it's this British driver?
I can't see that it would do mclaren any good to actually short change Alonso much in the equipment or the tech support but, it's hardly news that teams do sometimes favor one of their drivers. Fair? No, but that really is beside the point. When millions of $ are at stake, fair takes a back seat.
Alonzo needs to stay a bit quiet and focus on the job. He's hardly rallying anyone on that team to his side and he's beginning to sound like a real whinger. Nobody doubts it's possible Hamilton is favoured. Nobody doubts Alonso is quite up to the task of taking Hamilton on. He just needs to get on with it.

"The team wanted ME to win in BARCELONA and they want Hamilton to win at Silverstone."

They wanted him to win over there because he is spanish,it was his home race.In the same manner, they want him to win over here because Hamilton is british and this is home race.

This happens to me also once in a while, when Ferrari was in its lean period, i too searched for answers. I blamed bridgestone then :P

But coming back to Fisichella, its strange that Renault kept him even after his not so good results, but i guess they thought its better to have 1 new driver and 1 experienced one, rather than two new drivers in a team. However it seems that Renault might just be looking to kick him out if he doesnt bring some results soon. But all said and done, lots of improvements are needed on the Renault car also before they start winning again.

I apologise for writing this comment which is completely irrelevant to your blog title but I am truly dispondent.
Who is protecting Fisichella at Renault? You will all remember that he had exactly the same results and used exactly the same excuses last year when in the exactly the same car Alonso would win. They say "a bad craftsman blames his tools" and this is exactly what Fisichella has been doing all along. If we believed everything he says then Renault is the worst team in Formula 1 and they have a useless car. Can Renault not see this problem? Can no one open Renault??(tm)s eyes that their only problem are their useless drivers? I am truly broken hearted as I am a fanatic Renault fan. The day Fisichella manages to win a Grand Prix, it will be in a super car in which my great grandmother will give him a run for his money. He has the magnifisent talent or racing alone and finishing second!
Drivers like him should be banned from Formula 1. I will never desert my love for Renault but if they are protecting Fisichella for some reason, perhaps its time they respected and cared for their fans!
