Lewis Hamilton wins US Grand Prix ahead of Alonso

Lewis Hamilton Podium USA

Lewis : Hey Alonso , is it me , or the 1st place champagne tastes better than the second place one :P !

Lewis Hamilton must love everything about North America now. the young rookie won his second consecutive formula one race on Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,  taking the formula one United States Grand Prix in grand style. This time Fernando Alonso did challenge him, but failed to get past. A thing about Alonso i notice is that he is arrogant and a snob. Seeing him in the post race celebrations left me fuming. He was frowning and seemed the least bit happy for Lewis. Even Felipe Massa looked happier than Alonso. Felipe Massa was able to ward off a late challenge by teammate Kimi Raikkonen and took third place. Kimi completed the Ferrari 3-4.

The start was exciting as Alonso went on to Lewis Hamilton like a vulture, but Lewis was quick to shut the door on Alonso’s face by moving across.

There was an incident on lap 1 only, but the stupid TV directors only showed it on lap 3. FIA really stinks at managing TV production.David Coulthard , Ralf Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello all retired at the first lap. I can see the Toyota guys kicking Ralf Schumacher out, you only give a guy so many chances. Jarno Trulli , the other Toyota driver gave a fabulous performance taking sixth place. Heikki Kovalainen of Renault (the dude you see in all those ING ads, came 4th) , a much needed good finish for the Renault team.

A person who is going to be a little red faced on his return to f1 would be Robert Kubica, Sebastian Vettel put up a gutsy performance and I am sure the BMW team must be looking at bigger things from the 19 year old rather than keeping him as the third driver. BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld had a bad race with him having to retire with technical problems.

Nico Rosberg of Williams had a bad day at the office, with his car erupting in flames. He was later seen cursing his car and the fire on the back of his car (and his engineers ?). Also he was sen throwing his steering wheel , only to realize that he could be fined and putting that thing back again. Anger would not get you anywhere Nico.

And now we head back to Europe again and Lewis has raced on the next three circuits atleast, so Alonso might have to see Lewis’s rear a whole lot more !

Alonso is showing his true colours at the moment. complaining that his teammate would not let him pass, even though they were on similar strategies. Half a sniff up the wrong side on turn 1, and that was all.

If he was that much faster, or wanted to make a point he should have made more attempts to pass, backed off for a lap or two and then charging back up to lewis’ gearbox, just to show that he could go faster if he was allowed past. He didn’t, and couldn’t.

Shoe might have been able to throw his weight around in a team that was built around him, but the Maccas have always been proud of running a two-man team. Alonso wants undisputed no.1 status? he should sign for a different team.

    Nice one Lewis!

Yeah Alonso is pretty unpopular among all.

As far as McLaren running a 2 member team goes, i think it was Lewis’s outburst in Monaco which actually prompted this change.
