Hamilton scores pole for US Grand Prix
Fernando Alonso wasnt able to beat Lewis Hamilton’s time on his final flying lap and Lewis further improved his time later when he came across the start finish line to rub salt on Fernando’s wounds. It seems like the rookie from Britain is on the road to the formula one driver’s championship and Fernando Alonso might just be left looking greedily at Hamilton.
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikonnen will be 3rd and 4th on the grid respectively , inching past BMW’s ever so impressive Nick Heidfeld. Sebastien Vettel who is the replacement for Robert Kubica after his huge crash at Montreal gave an impressive performance and qualified 7th.
“I’m quite surprised to be honest,” said Lewis Hamilton
“Going into qualifying we hadn’t found the optimum set-up and I knew Fernando was quick here.
“It’s good to see we’re ahead of the Ferraris. I had to pull it all out but my last two laps in third qualifying were just right.”
