Lewis Hamilton snatches maiden pole at Canada
Seeing Lewis Hamilton, someone muttered – Is this the start of something beautiful !

BTW The qualifying telecast in India was delayed by the Asia vs Africa Cricket match
Lewis Hamilton, the McLaren Mercedes rookie formula one driver further impressed people by scoring pole position. Maybe it was some of that aggression from Monaco. Teammate Fernando Alonso managed a second place. But what was surprising was the fact that Nick Heidfeld split the Ferraris and the McLarens. Nick Heidfeld is really impressing with his gutsy drives this season. Maybe he deserves a team better than BMW. Ralf Schumacher(in photo) again disappointed with a dismal 18th, the Toyota team later blamed it on traffic. Jarno Trulli came out with flying colours though managing a respectable 10th place.

Here is what Lewis Hamilton had to say after the qualifying
“It has been a fantastic day, it is already a fantastic weekend,” Lewis Hamilton said.
“It is not easy when you have a two-time world champion hunting you down.
“I stayed strong and I did it. I owe it all to the team, we worked very hard to get it right.
“You come to that last corner at 200mph and on the final lap I went quicker than I have ever been. I almost touched the wall.
“For the final lap the car was sweet. I did not make a mistake and I got the time – I am thrilled.”
