Steinmetz adds sparkle to McLarens at Monaco
Monaco attracts the stars of F1 and the corporate world. So firms are busy doing some PR and advertising and generally generating some buzz around their brand. Steinmitz too decided to generate buzz in this rich and happening town during the run-up to the Monaco Grand Prix.
The partnership of McLaren with this corporate sponsor is a special one. Last year during the Monaco weekend, Kimi was given a diamond studded steering wheel to drive with inside an ice car to celebrate McLaren’s 40th Anniversary.
This year Fernando Alonso’s and Lewis Hamilton’s helmets will have the sparkle. Their helmets will be studded with diamonds spelling out Monaco 2007. But these diamonds are not to keep. See the Monaco 2007 of Lewis Hamilton’s helmet below :
The diamonds which are to keep though are the ones on the $10,000 rings given to Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. The rings have a tyre tread motif in diamonds. Now thats what i call classy !

All those diamonds are better off with me, but during the Monaco weekend, i sincerely feel we need less showbiz and more racing.

Rightly said Ron, but do you really think F1 will ever be the same without the glamour of Monaco, the beaches, the yatchs, the football and the CEOs, i dont think so.
