Jenson Button rubbishes ‘leaving Honda’ claims
Jenson Button today came out strongly against rumours that he would leave the Honda F1 team at the end of the year. He stressed the need to keep pushing till the goal is reached.
“I have seen loads of speculation about me, it is great! I’m totally confused by it, but it makes me smile,”“But I’m not going anywhere. I am staying here.”
“The back end of last year was really good,”
“But if you are building a new car and you veer off in the wrong direction, or you don’t have the right people in the right place, things are not going to work.
“That’s probably been the case with this car. We’ve rectified a lot of already, but we need to keep pushing.
“We have to make sure everything is moving in the right direction now, and I think it is.”
“I would like to see us with a car getting into the top 10 in qualifying,”
“That’s a starting point because you can’t expect us to suddenly challenge for wins from where we are, but we can at least build from there.”
