In a keenly contested Malaysian Grand Prix qualifying,Ferrari F1′s Felipe Massa grabbed the pole position for the 2007 Malaysian Grand Prix. McLaren’s Fernando Alonso came 2nd in the qualifying just edging out Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen. McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton came fourth. The qualifying was quite uncertain with teams playing poker on whether it would rain or not. The competition was so fierce at the end, that hte top four positions were decided only after the session had ended and the drivers were on their final flying laps. Fernando had lapped an exceptional time early on in the session only to see it being quashed at the end.
Renault gave an extremely poor performance with both cars (Heiki Kovalainen and Giancarlo Fisichella) failing to qualify for the last qualifying session. BMW and Williams also gave good performances by clinching places in the top ten.

  1. Hi

Really nice and exciting qualifying action, the Renaults were pretty unlucky IMO, Heiki just got kicked out at the end of the second session. His career in F1 racing doesnt seem to be off to a great start.

In stark contrast i feel that Lewis Hamilton is doing great. The McLarens and the Ferraris seem to be on the top. Which is a good thing, i hate seeing monopolies, so two teams fighting it out seems great.

Also i feel that Kimi should be very afraid of Felipe massa, his great performance today left no doubts about his killer instinct in my mind and its now quite certain that the Driver’s championship will be a three way affair between Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa.

BTW, why do you count out Lewis Hamilton from the championship ?
