Formula One flop show at Laureus
It was a bad day for formula one at the Laureus Sports Awards ceremony. Not even a single f1 racing nominee won, despite there being four of them. Sometimes one feels whether formula one really gets the recognition it deserves. Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher had been nominated for the Sportsperson of the Year category, and particularly Michael Schumacher was being seen as the favourite. But the award eventually went to Tennis star Roger Federer who has won it for the 3rd time.
F1 rookie Lewis Hamilton lost the breakthrough of the year awards, which went to Amelie Mauresmo.
And finally formula one racing team Renault lost the team of the year award to the Italian football team, I can see Ferrari are not complaining about this one.
