Bridgestone to introduce New Tyre Markers
After the white spot on the tyre didn’t work too well for TV spectators of formula one, Tyre compounds shall now be easily distinguishable by the colour of treads. The softer compound tyres will be having a white line running through its treads so that TV audiences are easily able to judge the tyre compound. The Formula One regulatory body FIA hopes that this will help add to the excitement of the race.
Bridgestone’s head of Formula One track Operations, Kees van de Grint, said:
“This has received a positive response from teams and onlookers.”
“It is time consuming to apply to the tyres but is clearly visible on track.”
According to new FIA Formula One rules all teams must use both of the 2 types of tyres in the race.
Here are photos of the new markings, easily seen from all angles !
