Race Reactions : Australian Grand Prix 2007
Here are some select reactions from the F1 paddocks
Briatore on Kovalainen
“If I say it was good, I’m a complete idiot. It was rubbish,” Briatore said.
“We know the guy is good. Because his performance was so bad, it was not him. Maybe it was his brother.”
Lewis Hamilton on Race
“To lead in my first Grand Prix was fantastic. It’s tough when you have a two-times world champion behind you.
“To be on the podium for my first race - I couldn’t be more happy. The hard work has just paid off.”
Race winner Kimi Raikkonen
“A fantastic victory! It is great to be winning again with my new team whom I want to thank for giving me a great car.”
“This is a great way to start the formula one championship. We know we have a very competitive package but we still have to work to make it even better and above all, reliable. “
Current formula one world champion Fernando Alonso
What a great way to start the season and my career as a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver. Of course it’s always better to win but Kimi was a little bit quicker than us today, however we scored the maximum points that were possible, and I’m really pleased.
Both of the Bridgestone Potenza tyre options worked well. We will now continue to work hard to give us the best opportunity to beat Ferrari at the Malaysian Grand Prix
