Kimi takes Austalian Grand Prix 2007 Pole

New Ferrari hero Kimi Raikkonen took the pole position for the opening race of the 2007 formula one season - The Australian Grand Prix. His teammate Felipe Massa was struck with a gearbox problem and could only qualify in 16th place.? McLaren driver and current world champion Fernando Alonso took second place with his teammate rookie Lewis Hamilton taking fourth place. Renault drivers Fisichella and Kovalainen took the 6th and 13th place place respectively.
So as far as the war of the rookies goes, Hamilton seems to be on top, part of the reason being Renault’s performance, which was lacklustre today.
