Bernie proposes change in F1 point structure
The man everyone loves to hate in F1, FIA topshot Bernie Ecclestone has gone on record to say that he will be proposing a change in the points structure from the 2008 formula one season.
“With second place getting eight points it is not right that the winner takes only 10,” said Ecclestone
“For 2008 I will propose a change. The guy who wins more should be champion.”
Ironically , F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is himself the man behind the current point system. The current point system was introduced in 2003, and was a part of many decisions taken in haste to cut the gap between Ferrari and the other teams. Bernie now wants to change the very system he pioneered, F1 really needs some smart brains. Initially in 2002, the system was 10 for first and 6 championship points for second.
