Spyker F1 Launched
Sorry for this tremendously late post, college seems to be catching up with our reporters and compilers.Anyway, here is what team supremo Mike Gascoyne had to say this at the Spyker formula one 2007 car’s launch
“It’s lovely that the team’s been sold and it has a new brand start, but really, engineering-wise, it’s just an evolution of last year’s car with a Ferrari engine in it.
“What we’ve got to do is to make sure we make a competitive car in the future.
“We’re targeting Turkey . We want it to be a significant step forward, but really it will be defined by progress in the wind tunnel and where we are at the start of the season.
“We have to see where our direct opposition are, particularly Super Aguri and Toro Rosso. We’re going to ensure that when we do introduce the B-spec, it will be a significant step forward.”
Lets face it, we all know the the Spyker car will do nothing but increase traffic at the grid. Other teams have spent all their time redesigning new concepts and cars, while Spyker take their old car, tinker with it a bit and put a Ferrari engine in it. And when the team principal at the start of new season says they need to be more competetive ,we know all is not well.

Nicely said, I think all these B grade teams should work hard to atleast become competitive.
